JKBOSE to declare result of class 12 bi-annual exam on proportionate basis

Srinagar: The JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has decided to declare the result of class 12th bi-annual private exams of Kashmir and winter zone Jammu, on a proportionate basis.

The move comes in wake of the approval granted by the school education department. Notably, the bi-annual exams of the class 12th students was cancelled as a preventive measure to control the spread of second wave of COvID-19 pandemic.

   

Now, the JKBOSE has decided to award marks on proportionate basis to all such candidates who have already passed at least two papers during the previous examinations.

“The scheme of awarding marks on proportionate basis is subject to the condition that all such candidates have submitted the permission cum admission forms for the said examination, deposited the examination fee as per the schedule,” the notification reads.

The JKBOSE notification reads that, the candidates having already passed four subjects, the marks in 5th subject will be given on the basis of average of highest marks scored in any two subjects out of the four subjects.

“The candidates having already passed three subjects, the marks in 4th subject will be given on the basis of average of the highest marks scored in any two subjects out of the three subjects,” it reads.

Similarly, the marks in 5th subject will be given on the basis of average of the highest marks scored in any two subjects out of the four subjects.

The notification states that the candidates who have already passed two subjects, will be awarded marks in 3rd subject on the basis of average of marks scored in the two subjects already passed and marks in 4th subject will be awarded on the basis of average of highest marks scored in any two subjects out of the three subjects while the marks in 5th subject will be awarded on the basis of average of highest marks scored in any two subjects out of the four subjects.

“The candidates who had to appear as fresh, subject Change Cases, additional subject vases or improvement Cases or failure & reappear (having passed only one subject, will have to appear in the examination likely to be conducted in the month of August. 2021,” the Board notification reads.

The JK Board has informed that the students who are not satisfied with their results declared after awarding marks on average basis will be given chance to appear in the examination as and when the same is feasible to be conducted.

“The candidates having vocational optional subject, shall appear in external practical assessment to be conducted by Sector Skill Council as and when the Covid-19 pandemic situation improves and conditions become conducive,” the notification said.

The JKBOSE has however stated that the result of the candidates, declared on proportionate basis, will be cancelled at any time if it is found that the candidate was not eligible for appearing in Class 12th examination but has been promoted.

“The candidate will not be served any prior notice,” the Board notification reads.
