KNS holds workshop for affiliated editors, journalists at Kashmir Press Club

Srinagar: A one-day workshop for editors and journalists affiliated to local news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) was held at Kashmir Press House in Srinagar on Saturday.

The workshop was presided over by founder and Editor-in-Chief of KNS, Muhammad Aslam Bhat, and was attended by KNS correspondents from all the ten districts of the Valley. Editors of both Urdu and English sections of the organization were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, district correspondents shared their experiences and difficulties in news reporting from the peripheries.

Editor-in-chief, Mohammad Aslam Bhat said that correspondence’s job is not an easy job, while an editor makes a good news report based on the information and details provided by a correspondent.

“Credibility has been an important goal of KNS and we have never compromised with it. We never do any news or event without cross-checking,” he said, while asking the reporters to first find out the real facts about any incident and when they are satisfied, only then contact the concerned civil or police officer to record his/her statement regarding the issue.
