Principal Secretary Home Shaleen Kabra visits Police Academy Udhampur

Udhampur: Principal Secretary Home Department, Shaleen Kabra, IAS today visited Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur.

According to an official handout, he was welcomed by Dr. S.D Singh-IPS, ADGP, Director Police Academy Udhampur alongwith his officers of the Academy. He was given Guard of Honour at Quarter Guard.

Shaleen Kabra accompanied by Dr. S.D Singh and Academy officers held round of the Academy and thereafter interacted with participants of three days Vertical Interaction Course on “Terrorism and Counter Insurgency” and probationary Dy.SsP who are undergoing their Basic Training in the Academy. During the interaction programme Dr. S.D Singh briefed the Principal Secretary Home about the functioning of the Academy through a Power Point Presentation.

Praising J&K police for sacrifices it has made in the long struggle of over three decades, Kabra cautioned that trust of people on the police is the basic element on which the fight against terrorism can be won and recruitment in the terrorist ranks can be stopped. He also called upon the police officers to work with dedication and honesty so that security situation can be improved and crime could be controlled in the society. Kabra also appreciated various innovative interventions being undertaken in SKPA to improve the standards of training in the Academy.

Wile talking about ethics in governance, Kabra advised the participants that there should be transparency in their dealings and ensure corruption free dispensation. He also advised that police has to lead all the challenges from front under all circumstances. He also gave tips about the best performing of duties by the police officers and said that love and affection to their legitimate assignments would keep them stress free during turmoil situations.

Secretary to Director, Tahir Hussain, Dy.SP. A.D (Indoor), Sunmati Gupta, Dy.SP, A.D (Admn.) SKPAU were present on the occasion.
