Srinagar: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge J&K Affairs Rajni Patil Thursday discussed the current political and security situation with senior Congress leaders at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
A statement of Congress issued here said that Patil also held a meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) general secretaries, secretaries and district presidents of Kashmir and received feedback regarding organisational affairs and activities in their respective districts.
She also stressed on the need to ensure discipline in the party ranks, which should be of paramount importance for all the leaders and workers. Patil cautioned that indiscipline at any level was intolerable and unacceptable. The statement said that JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir discussed the upcoming membership drive 2021-22 with the leaders.
He said that the drive would be launched throughout the country next month as per the decision of the recent Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting chaired by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
The statement said that during the meeting nationwide programmes scheduled by the AICC in the coming days were discussed and the party leaders were urged to follow the programmes with enthusiasm.
It said that during the meeting, discussion was also held about the party’s roadmap in J&K.
The statement said that CWC member Tariq Hameed Karra and other senior Congress leaders also participated in the meeting.
