Srinagar: National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah Tuesday condemned the killing of a salesman Muhammad Ibrahim Khan at Bohri Kadal in Srinagar downtown.

A statement of NC issued here said that denouncing the killing as dastardly and barbaric, the NC president said, “Violence in any form is unacceptable and intolerable in any emancipated society. It only leads a trail of devastation behind. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family of the slain salesman. The recurrence of such bloodshed raises a question mark on the prevailing security scenario in Kashmir.”

Condemning the incident, the NC vice president said, “The spurt in the incidents of targeted killings raises a big question mark on the security scenario in Kashmir, particularly in Srinagar city. The perpetrators, who have committed this heinous act, have no religion. No religion condones violence. Nothing justifies such bloodshed.”

Describing the killings as cold-blooded murder which cannot be compensated by anything, he said, “I express heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray to Allah to give the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss in this hour of grief.”

Meanwhile, NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar also condemned the killing of the salesman.
