Seminar on cyber crimes against women held at Sopore College

Sopore: The department of computer applications at Government Degree College for Women in Sopore observed Cyber Jagrukta Diwas on Thursday and organised one day seminar on cyber crimes against women.

The day was observed in consonance with the initiative of Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India to combat cyber crime through the implementation of the scheme called” Indian cyber crime coordination centre. “

   

SP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma was chief guest on the occasion. Dr Faheem Masoodi from University of Kashmir, Aazim Mushtaq Pandith a criminal lawyer and expert on cyber law, Prof Tanveer Ahmad from Government Degree College Baramulla, and Mir Wasim Regional director ICICI Bank Ltd were present. Besides staff and students, this seminar was attended by prominent people and members from media fraternity.

Principal of the College Prof F R Beigh welcomed the guests and also highlighted the need for such initiatives in the contemporary times.
