Srinagar: A private school teacher allegedly hanged himself to death in the Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
An official said that the 32-year-old man strangled himself by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Shaar Khrew.
Police identified the deceased as Suhail Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Muhammad Lone.
He was working as a teacher in a local private school.
Police said that his body was taken for completion of medico-legal formalities and later handed over to his family for last rites.
The official said that investigations were going on to ascertain the reason behind the man taking the extreme step.
“There can be many reasons for committing suicide but the real cause will be ascertained after completing the investigations,” Police said.
They said that the deceased was unmarried and was living at his parents’ house.
