Kupwara, June 7: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Imam Din Monday said that the recovery rate of Covid-19 positive patients across the north Kashmir district had gone up to 89 percent while the positivity rate had come down to 5.33 percent.

Addressing media persons here, he said that a total number of positive patients across the district stood at 12,735 while a substantial number of patients had recovered from the virus as well.

Din said that a total of 11,323 patients had recovered so far.

He said the district witnessed 148 deaths since the beginning of Covid-19.

About containment and red zone management, the DC said that total number of active red zones were 76 where a number of 507 Covid-19 patients were positive.

He said that sampling was being increased continuously to know the positive trend of Covid-19 cases.

Din urged the people of the district to religiously follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviour and attend nearest vaccination centers for timely inoculation against Covid-19.

He congratulated all those persons involved in Covid-19 mitigation efforts for their hard work and good results.
