After a short spell of peace on the Line of Control (LoC), the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire in the Tangdhar sector on Saturday.
According to officials, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of Northern Kupwara district on Saturday.
"The ceasefire violation took place at Army's 20 JAT and 17 Bihar posts at Amrui, Sadpura, Dhani, Chatkadi area along the LoC in Tangdhar sector at around 7:30 pm when Pakistani troops opened fire towards Indian posts," the official said.
He said the Indian Army retaliated in adequate measure, triggering intermittent exchange of fire between the two sides.
The exchange of fire as per the official was going on in these areas when this report was filed.
"There has been no report of any fatal or non-fatal casualties or any kind of property damage on this side till now," official said.
