A day after ruling People's Democratic Party appealed to the veteran resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani to "consider Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as your daughter and give her a chance she deserves," the Hurriyat Conference led by Geelani lashed out at Mehbooba, saying "she has turned heavenly land into a hell and failed to uphold human, national and religious relation with Kashmiris."
"We have three-pronged relation with Mehbooba—human, national and religious, but she has utterly failed to uphold any of these. Humanity teaches us to respect and honour human beings irrespective of their caste, creed or culture, but she—by her barbaric armed forces and uncontrolled police—has turned this heavenly land into a hell. Here every house is mourning the demise of loved ones, thereby tarnishing the very fabric of this honourable and pious relation," a spokesperson of Hurriyat (G) said in a hard-hitting statement in response to PDP's appeal to Geelani yesterday.
Regarding the national relation, the Hurriyat said, Mehbooba could at least be on side of her people and join their just struggle, "but for petty power and to please her masters she has been competing in killing and maiming her own people."
On 'religious connections' with Mehbooba, the Hurriyat spokesperson said "killing of eight CRPF personnel brought shame on her Muslim identity, but the daily ruthless killings of our youth fail to appeal her conscience to feel sorry for being (an) Indian collaborator." "Geelani Sahab is the leader of this nation and he treats all women as his daughters, but how is this 'daughter' who feels happy to confine her fatherly figure in his house for years together but does not hesitate to emotionally blackmail him to call for his help whenever her position is threatened. As a 'father' he (Geelani Sahab) advised the 'daughter' not to ruin her hereafter for the comfort and luxury of those who kill and destroy us," the Hurriyat spokesman said. "We question her: how long you will suppress your conscience and continue to support our killer? Time will come when your inner (self) will curse you for being so, but time may not be on your side."
