Militants attack forces in Shopian village

Shopian, June 11: Militants attacked a naka party at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday afternoon. However, no loss of life or injuries were reported. A police official said that the militants opened fire on a joint naka party of the CRPF and the Police at Aglar village, some 22 kms from Shopian town, at around 12.30 pm.

“No loss of life or injuries have been reported in the incident”, the official said, adding that the area had been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

   

Meanwhile, security forces launched a search operation in the orchards of Awneera village of the district
