Nayeem Khan’s father passes away

Ghulam Muhammad Khan, father of the senior separatist leader and chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Front (NF) Nayeem Ahmad Khan, of Pattan, Baramulla, passed away this afternoon at JVC hospital here after a brief illness.

Ghulam Muhammad Khan, father of the senior separatist leader and chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Front (NF) Nayeem Ahmad Khan, of Pattan, Baramulla, passed away this afternoon at JVC hospital here after a brief illness. He was 74.

Various separatist leaders and organizations expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise. They prayed for the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.     

Expressing grief, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul with highest place in Jannah. 

Geelani, in a statement today, said, "I and the entire Hurriyat Conference equally share the grief of Nayeem Ahmad Khan sahab and his family and we pray to Allah to bestow them with patience to bear this irreparable loss."

Chairman, Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq, expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family.

The Mirwaiz prayed to the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and forbearance to his bereaved family.

Expressing heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) prayed for the heavenly abode of depart soul and strength to the bereaved family.

Chairman, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah condoled the demise and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

In a statement today, Shah said, "The deceased had spent some time with him in jail and exhibited steadfastness during that period."

Hailing the contribution of the deceased towards the freedom struggle, Shah expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, a Freedom Party delegation led by its general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari visited Pattan and participated in the Nimaaz-e-Jinaaza of the deceased.

Jammu Kashmir National Front (NF), while expressing grief and sorrow over the demise, prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage and fortitude to the chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan and other members of bereaved family.

In a condolence message, the Front spokesman said, "National Front family shares grief of the bereaved family." 

Leaders of Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) Shabir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Ghulam Nabi War prayed for the deceased and sympathized with the bereaved family.  

The leaders described the deceased great pro-freedom personality "who had suffered several trials and tribulation including incarceration for supporting the ongoing resistance movement."  

The non-resident Kashmiri (NRK) leaders including Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Altaf Ahmed Wani and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, have extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family while praying for the departed soul.

EJAC president, Abdul Qayoom Wani has also condoled the demise of Ghulam Muhammad Khan.      

In a statement, Wani extended his condolences to Nayeem Ahmad Khan. He expressed his sympathies and solidarity with the bereaved and prayed for the departed soul.
