The results of municipal polls in the state on Saturday prompted state BJP chief Ravinder Raina to claim the next chief minister will be from BJP. Raina told reporters, "Our candidates performed very well both in Jammu and Kashmir regions. Since we have the numbers, the next Jammu mayor will be a BJP man while in Srinagar no party can make a mayor without BJP's support."
"Not just the mayors, I assure you that even the next chief minister of the state will be a BJP man," Raina said.
Asked whether he or Delhi BJP leaders are in touch with anyone in J&K to form the government, he said, "We will not talk to anyone. We will win on our own since public is with BJP."
Raina also said that people of Jammu region in general and the district in particular have shown maturity while casting their votes and "rejected the divisive politics of the Congress party".
