No ‘Baba Nagri Urs’ this year due to COVID

Ganderbal, June 3: The two-day Urs of Hazrat Mian Nizam ud Din Kiyanvi (RA) being observed every year on June 7 and 8 at Baba Nagri Wangath, Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has been cancelled in view of pandemic.

According to the management of Hazrat Baba Jee Larvi Trust, there will be no congregation of Urs on June 7 and 8 due to the situation arisen in view of the COVID-19.

   

“In view of the COVID-19 and for the safety of the people we have decided to cancel the Urs this year,” Mian Bashir Ahmed, Sajjada Nasheen, Darbar Baba Ji Larvi said in a statement.

“Around one lakh devotees from across J&K and elsewhere would participate in the Urs every year,” Said Mian Altaf Ahmed, trustee of Baba Ji Larvi, who is also the son of Mian Bashir Ahmed.

Last year also the annual Urs was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
