The army on Sunday said that the infiltration continues to take place "due to tough terrain and weather conditions", but said a "very robust counter-infiltration grid" remains in place on the Line of Control in Kashmir.
"I do admit that infiltration is taking place," general officer commanding (GoC) of army's 15 Corps, lieutenant general JS Sandhu said here when asked whether the killing of six militants at Hajin points to some loopholes on the counter-infiltration grid.
He said that the reasons for infiltration are "tough terrain and weather conditions." "We have already taken a series of measures that include providing our men the latest gadgets including night vision equipment and GPS system to track suspicious movements. We are also going to take more measures to plug infiltration," the GoC said.
