Northern Army Commander visits forward posts in Rajouri
Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh on Thursday visited forward posts in Rajouri to take stock of the ground security situation.
Singh was accompanied by White Knight Corps Commander, Lieutenant General Saranjeet Singh.
He visited Counter Insurgency Force (CIF), Romeo, popularly known as Rashtriya Rifles (RR) headquarters at Maniyarwala-Pamla in Rajouri district to review the operational preparedness and prevailing security situation, said Jammu based defence spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand.
"The army commander also visited forward posts where he was briefed in detail on the actions being undertaken to ensure a robust counter militancy grid and actions being undertaken," he added.
Later, he said Singh had an interaction with soldiers serving at forward posts and also visited Nagrota army headquarters of 16 crops, where he was briefed by GOC White Knight Corps commander on prevailing security situation and regarding security arrangements put in place for Amarnath Yatra.
