Only stranded vehicles would be allowed to ply on the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Thursday, officials said.
An advisory issued by the traffic department Wednesday saidthe movement of traffic will be from Jammu towards Srinagar and strictly forstranded vehicles only.
The Mughal road and the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri roadcontinue to remain closed due to snow accumulation, the advisory read.
"The commuters are advised not to travel during night hours.No movement of any type of vehicle shall be allowed from the oppositedirection," the advisory further read, adding: "People are advised to undertakejourney on the Srinagar-Jammu highway only after confirming status of the roadfrom traffic control units in Srinagar, Jammu and Ramban."
Meanwhile, rains lashed most parts of Kashmir, including thesummer capital Srinagar, on Wednesday, even as the local meteorologicaldepartment predicted more precipitation in next 24 hours.
"There is a possibility of more light rains until Thursdayevening," a Met official said.
