The use of pellet guns by forces continues unabated with six more people including a girl sustaining injuries in this South Kashmir town on Tuesday.
On Tuesday afternoon, policemen while chasing protesters in Malkhnag area of old town Anantnag used pellet guns, injuring six persons including the girl. The injured are being treated at District hospital Anantnag.
A 45-year-old man is being treated for pellet injuries in head, back and face, said a doctor, adding: "His condition is being monitored."
He said a 15-year-old teenager and a 27-year-old girl too were treated in the hospital for pellet injuries in legs.
"Three more youth with pellet injuries in hips and legs were also treated at the hospital," a doctor said.
Locals alleged that policemen chased the protesters and later indiscriminately fired pellets in the by-lanes of Malkhnag.
