
Jammu, June 10: Drop in Covid19 positive cases has reduced pressure on the Government hospitals in Jammu where only 145 patients are presently admitted out of whom 84 are on oxygen support. The positivity rate, according to a senior official, has dropped below 2 percent including in rural areas in the district due to which bed occupancy in hospitals has declined. The official figures say that 6767 patients infected with Covid19 were admitted in different hospitals of Jammu district till date, out of whom 4142 have been discharged.
Out of 4142 discharged patients, the officials quoting cumulative figures said that 2356 patients were discharged from GMC Jammu, 65 from SMGS, 314 from CD&TB Hospital, 145 from Super Speciality Hospital - which has now been de-notified on 04-06-2021 - 1205 from MCH Gandhi Nagar, 2 from DRDO Temporary Hospital, and 55 patients from Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital - also de-notified on 03-06-2021.
“Of total 145 patients who are admitted in hospitals for Covid treatment, 101 are in GMC Jammu, 23 in Chest Diseases Hospital 9 in MCH and 12 in DRDO Temporary Hospital,” the official said.
Of total 235 ventilator/critical care beds in different hospitals, the official data discloses that 54 such beds are occupied in GMC Jammu, and one (non-invasive) bed in CD &TB Hospital.
A total of 84 covid infected patients are still on oxygen support, 47 in GMC Jammu, 21 in CD&TB Hospital, 8 in MCH and 8 in DRDO Hospital.
In the last 24 hours, four deaths have been reported from GMC Jammu. So far, a total of 958 patients have lost their lives to Covid19 in Jammu District’s hospitals, mostly in GMC Jammu - 878. As per the figures, GMC Jammu is followed by CD&TB Hospital where 40 deaths have been reported, 25 in Super Speciality Hospital, 13 in MCH and two in SMGS Hospital.
