Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is arriving here on Wednesday to review security situation in the Valley, with specific focus on Amaranth Yatra beginning Thursday, sources said.
Rajnath will land at Srinagar "International" Airport on Wednesday afternoon and drive to Raj Bhawan for the security review meeting which is expected to last for two hours.
"Security for Amaranth Yatra, which is going to start from Thursday, is on agenda of the meeting," a senior official said.
He said security agencies will brief the Home Minister on arrangements being made for smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
The official said recent killings in north Kashmir's Sopore are also expected to come up for discussion.
The meeting will be attended by Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, Deputy Chief Minister, DrNirmal Singh, Governor N N Vohra, Chief Secretary Iqbal Khanday, GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen SubrataSaha, Director General of Police, K Rajendera Kumar, IG CID A G Mir, IG Kashmir, IGs of CRPF and BSF and senior officers of intelligence agencies.
Officials said on Thursday morning, Rajnath will fly to Pahalgam in south Kashmir where he will be taken Amarnath cave shrine in a sortie.
