Chairman of United Jihad Council and the chief of HizbulMujahideen Syed Salahuddin has paid rich tributes to martyrs of Karbala.
“Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) resisted evil to uphold truth. The fight of Imam Hussain (RA) was based on truth and to uphold the flag of Islam,” local news agency CNS quoted Salahuddin as having said while addressing a conference organised in honour of Karbala martyrs.
“Kashmir struggle has a lesson in the episode of Karbala as this tragedy is repeated everyday in the Valley. In Kashmir, innocents are locked up, kids, young and old are killed and deprived of their eyesight. The nation should remember these sacrifices as we are indebted to those who painted this struggle with their sacred blood,” Salahuddin said.
Referring to the forthcoming panchayat and municipal polls, Salahuddin said,
“People should boycott the upcoming local body polls completely as New Delhi misuses these elections at international level to defame the ongoing Kashmir struggle.”
“History is testimony to the fact that successful candidates in elections become the tool in the hands of agencies and they turn out to be more aggressors than the armed forces. History will never forgive them who participate in the elections and sooner or later such elements have to answer the nation,” he added.
The UJC chairman condemned the use of force on mourners during Muharam processions and said that such actions won’t kill the Hussaini (RA) sentiments of Kashmiri people.
