SPO dies, forest guard injured in Doda accident

Bhaderwah, June 24: A Special Police Officer (SPO) died while a forest guard was seriously injured when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Gandoh area of Doda on Thursday.

SP Bhaderwah Abdul Qayoom said that a car (JK02CM 0885) was on its way to Gandoh from Bhatyas and when it reached at Shoran Morh, just 3 km ahead of Gandoh, the driver lost control over the wheel while negotiating a curve and the vehicle fell into the gorge.

   

“Police, SSB and locals immediately rushed to the spot and shifted both to Sub District Hospital Gandoh where doctors declared one of them as brought dead, while another seriously injured person was shifted to GMC Doda for treatment,” SP Bhaderwah said.

The dead was identified as SPO Ashok Kumar posted at SPP Malikpora while the injured has been identified as forest guard Muhammad Ashraf son of Muhammad Shafi Zargar of Bhaderwah.
