Srinagar, June 20: J&K Sports Council is all set to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 at multiple venues in Srinagar.
To celebrate the World Yoga Day, the Sports Council has shortlisted three venues in Srinagar wherein the celebrations would be held at the same time.
June 21 is celebrated as World Yoga Day across the world.
It was United Nations General Assembly in 2014 that overwhelmingly adopted a draft resolution declaring June 21 as the International Yoga Day.
Keeping in view the Covid-19 SOPs, the Sports Council has included less number of participants who would be separated and would assemble at three different venues.
The main function of the event would be held at Synthetic Turf Ground TRC Srinagar.
Another function at the same time would be held at adjacent TRC Cricket ground while the third function would be held at Polo Ground Srinagar.
"We could have assembled all the participants at the same venue but Covid-19 SOPs don't allow that. The events will be held at three venues while maintaining Covid-19 protocols. We have also kept participation to the minimum," said an official in the Sports Council.
To finalise the arrangements, the meeting of all stakeholders was held on Friday at the Synthetic Turf Ground TRC.
