Residents of Hubbi Colony demand proper drainage system; widening of road

We, the residents of Hubbi Colony, 90 Feet Road, are facing tremendous hardships due to drainage problems in our locality as road widening is still pending from police station, Soura to PHE deptt. Only 200m of this area has been left out and no work has been done by UT administration due to which our drainage system has completely failed. We have to call every SMC official after every three months to clean our septic tanks due to the non-availability of drainage outlets in our colony. We now request DC, Srinagar and Commissioner SMC to look into the matter.

Unscheduled power cuts in Kupwara, adjoining areas

We, the residents of Kupwara and its adjoining areas are facing tremendous hardships because of unscheduled power cuts in our area. It is causing a huge inconvenience to the public in general and the students community in particular as the various board and university exams are being conducted. We have not seen electricity during the day time in November and hardly receive 15 minutes of electricity in the late evening. As such we request concerned authorities to look into the matter without any further delay.

Address grievance of JJM employees

We, the Jaljeevan Mission employees of J&K, are persistently under mental trauma, as we have been requesting the concerned higher authorities regarding the enhancement of our honorarium as per Jaljeevan mission guidelines 2021, but to no avail. The concerned higher authorities especially have turned deaf ears to our grievance. Pertinently, our current honorarium is very meagre and is not given even as per 2013 guidelines. The prices of all essential commodities are touching the sky due to inflation and we are not even able to purchase those commodities which are essential for our survival and as a result, our family is on the verge of starvation. It is important to point out here that most of the employees among us have only this meagre source of income for fulfilling their daily needs. All the centrally sponsored scheme employees functioning in J&K are being given full honorarium as per their guidelines, except us, which is unjust. Whenever we approach the concerned higher authorities regarding our honorarium enhancement, we are being threatened that we will be terminated and outsourced staff will be adjusted against our posts. We request the LG administration to look into the matter and resolve our long-pending demand.

Shah Faisal Abad residents appeal to PDD

We, the residents of Shah Faisal Abad, Batamaloo, want to bring to the notice of concerned authorities that on Thursday, an LT line fell flat near the main gate of Old Khadi Mill. Fortunately, there was no pedestrian around. Further, the electric transformer installed on the spot suffers from frequent technical snags because of heavy power consumption. As such, we request the PDD authorities to look into the matter so that such an incident does not occur again.

Repair streetlights in Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina

We, the residents of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, appeal to the SMC to repair the streetlights which are located near the bridge in our colony. Dysfunctional streetlights are causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents as we are unable to venture out during late hours.
