2 former NC legislators among dozen leaders join BJP

Jammu: Former minister and National Conference leader Prem Sagar, two former legislators among many prominent leaders from the party Sunday joined Bharatiya Janata Party here at Trikuta Nagar headquarters.

Former Minister Prem Sagar Aziz, National Conference, District President Jammu and former Deputy Mayor Dharmavir Jamwal, NC Jammu Rural District President Som Nath Khajuria, NC District President Samba Mohinder Gupta, Provincial Secretary NC Arshad Choudhary, former MLA Kamal Arora, JMC Councillor Ward 31 Sucha Singh, JMC Councillor Ward 59 Ashok Singh and Apni Party District President Rinku Arora along with their hundreds of supporters joined BJP.

BJP’s national general secretary and Incharge J&K, Tarun Chugh, while welcoming them into the party said: “For 70 precious years there was lot of discrimination with many communities like Gujjars, women, refugees, Valmikis but now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured deliverance of justice to every community.”

He said that “BJP welcomes every like-minded person from other political parties who have become part of the BJP family with open mind for serving the nation.” Chugh said that they have chosen the perfect day to join BJP when the entire nation is celebrating the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

On this occasion, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, former minister and general secretary Dr Devinder Manyal, former MLC Charanjit Singh Khalsa, former Minister Devender Rana, former Minister Surjit Salathia and other leaders were also present.
