BJP workers thank Gadkari for fulfilling demand of Chenab Valley

Bhaderwah: A day after Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced that Bhaderwah-Basholi-Pathankot highway would be funded under Bharatmala Pariyojana while the 137-km interstate Doda-Bhaderwah-Chamba road would be declared National Highway, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers Thursday expressed gratitude to Gadkari and celebrated the fulfillment of the long-pending demand of Chenab Valley residents.

Gadkari made these promises during a rally at Doda on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the BJP workers in presence of the party’s executive committee member, Manjeet Razdan gathered at Seri Bazar of Bhaderwah and celebrated to express their gratitude to Gadkari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They said that these roads connecting J&K with Himachal Pradesh and Punjab were the lifelines for the holistic development of the region.

The foundation stone of the yet-to-complete 160-km Bhaderwah-Basholi-Pathankot road was laid by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1974 while the construction of Bhaderwah-Chamba road started in 1977.
