DGP sanctions meritorious scholarship for 253 wards of police personnel

Jammu: Director General of Police Dilbag Singh Tuesday sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over Rs 15.97 lakh in favour of wards of retired police personnel and serving SPOs.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that the meritorious scholarship had been sanctioned in favour of 253 wards for police personnel and SPOs on their performance in the annual examination of class 10th and 12th during the academic session 2020-21.

It said that the scholarship had been granted out of the Central Police Welfare Fund under two different orders.

The statement said that under these orders, the scholarship of Rs 7200 each has been granted in favour of 68 wards of serving police personnel for securing above 90 percent marks in class 12th, and Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 85 wards for securing 80 percent to 90 percent marks in the annual examination of class 12th during the academic session 2020-21.
