J&K reported 1033 militant attacks in 3 years: Government

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed 1033 militant attacks in the last three years with a maximum of 594 being reported in 2019, the government told the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

According to details provided by the Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, “J&K reported 244 terror attacks last year while the number for the current year was 196 till November 15.”

The list included one such incident in Delhi taking the total number to 1034 in the country from 2019 to mid-November of 2021.

“A total of 177 personnel including from Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) died in counter-terror operations during the period,” Bhatt said.

Without specifying the place of the fatal casualties, he said 80 personnel died in 2019, 62 in 2020, and 35 in the current year (till November 15)

The minister was replying to a question on the number of militant attacks in the country during the last three years and the number of armed forces personnel killed in the attacks.
