Jammu: Kashmiri Pandit leader and Bharatiya Janata Party J&K’s Incharge Department of Political Feedback, Ashwani Chrungoo Thursday said that the threats issued by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti regarding the unity and integrity of the nation were reminiscent of the volatile situation of 1953 when National Conference (NC) Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah also used public platforms to threaten the Centre with dire consequences in case his ideas of autonomy were not taken to their logical conclusion.

In a statement issued here, Chrungoo said, “Mehbooba’s statements are threatening and instigation to arouse the sentiments of the people against the nation, parliament and the government that need to be taken cognizance of.

Moreover, she is selling a fake narrative to the people about the accession of the state simply to keep herself politically alive consequent upon several divisions in her party over the last two years.”
