Ramban, June 20: The driver and conductor of an oil tanker had a miraculous escape after the vehicle in which they were travelling was trapped in a landslide and shooting stones at Mehar on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway Friday night.

Locals said the landslide and stones abruptly started sliding, resulting in the oil tanker getting entangled between landslides and shooting stones.

The occupants jumped out from the vehicle to a safer place to save their lives, they said.

The vehicle sustained some damages, however, the occupants remained unhurt.

The oil tanker was chained by JCB machines and after some time traffic resumed on the highway that got disrupted for about six hours Friday night.

A traffic police official regulating traffic at Mehar said that traffic was moving from both the sides on the highway despite stones sliding occasionally at this place.
