Windstorm hits Baramulla, trees uprooted

Sopore, June 24: Windstorm followed by heavy rains created panic in several parts of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

Locals of various areas including Sopore, Baramulla, Sangrama, Pattan, Zaingeer and other adjacent areas said that the windstorm and heavy rains continued for 15 minutes and created panic among the residents and pedestrian as scores of trees were uprooted at some places at Delina, Kantbagh and Sangrama on Sopore-Baramulla highway which affected the movement of traffic for several hours but no loss of life or injury was reported.

   

They said that due to strong winds, electricity had been snapped in many areas of the district.
