Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal were released from police custody on Saturday.
"Yasin Sahib was arrested on October 2, while Noor Muhammad Kalwal on October 9. Both were lodged at police station, Kothi-Bagh, here and were released this morning," a JKLF spokesman said in a statement.
"Soon after his release, JKLF chairman along with a delegation visited Fateh Kadal and Khanyar Srinagar and expressed condolences to the families of recently killed youth Meraj ud din Bangroo, Fahad Mushtaq Waza and Raies Ahmad Sofi. JKLF chairman met the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with them," the spokesman said.
"The kith and kin of Rayees Ahmad Sofi told Yasin sahib that he was taken into custody by forces, tortured severely and then killed in the custody in cold blood," the spokesman said.
He said, "On the occasion JKLF chairman condemned the ongoing killings of Kashmiris by the Indian forces."
"Blood of Kashmiris is being ruthlessly spilled which is highly condemnable," the spokesman quoted Yasin Malik as having said on the occasion.
