1947 Displaced Persons Front stages demonstration

1947 Displaced Persons Front (DPF) staged a demonstration outside Press Club, here on Thursday, to lodge their protest and put forth several demands.

The demonstration, which started at around 11, was held under the leadership of Yudhvir Singh Chib, president of the Front. The protesters carried banners and placards and raised                   slogans.

   

During his address, Chib said, “We have been demanding the same things since the last seven decades. These include identification card, PRC process to be simplified, maintenance of old revenue records, reservation in education, employment and Assembly, constitution of a development board and compensation.”

He appealed to the Governor to look into their issues and demands and mitigate their suffering.

JP Sharma, RP Singh, Kulbir Singh Chib, Sakndya Devi, Sukhjinder Singh, Sudesh Chib, Kehar Singh, Thoru Ram Chib, Raj Kumar Verma, Babloo, Bodh Raj, Pritma Kumari, Gagan Singh, Pawan Singh Salathia, Behari Singh, Tirath Singh, Tara Singh, Bimla Devi, Rani Devi, Krishan Singh, Subash Singh Chib, Kashmir Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Sham Singh, Gittan Ram, Baldev Singh, Sawaran Singh, Maan Singh, Sawaran Singh, S Hari Singh, Rasal Singh, Man Singh Chib, Sub Deva Singh, Sansar Chand and Balwan Singh also participated in the demonstration.
