ABSENTEEISM: 6 teachers suspended in Khawas

The education department suspended six government teachers, who were found absent from duty during surprise inspections.

The inspection was conducted after a video showing at Government Primary School, Loharki, locked went viral on social media.

   

As per sources to Greater Kashmir, on Saturday afternoon, some villagers from Loharki village of Khawas tehsil made a video and shared it on social media. The video was also sent to senior officers of the district administration and education department.

In the video, the villagers can be heard talking about the poor state of affairs of education department in the Khawas area. The villagers can also be seen talking about GPS Loharki being lying closed since the past several days.

Soon after the video went viral, a team led by in-charge headmaster Government High School, Narla, was sent to the Loharki and other nearby villagers. During inspection, sources said, that six teachers were found absent from duty in four schools.

All the absentees have been placed under suspension. The suspended teachers include Meena Kumari, posted in Middle School, Bambal, Sunil Kumar and Vicky Sharma from Middle School, Narla Majra, Suresh Kumar from Primary School, Ganghar, and Anju Bala and Prem Singh from Primary School, Loharki.

On being contacted by Greater Kashmir, chief education officer, Rajouri, Choudhary Lal Hussain, said, “Action has been taken against the six teachers, who were found absent from duty during inspection.”
