AICC describes Ravinder Raina as ‘loudmouth’

Describing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state chief, Ravinder Raina as ‘loudmouth’, All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and incharge Jammu and Kashmir, Sudhir Sharma here on Wednesday said Congress is more than one hundred years old party and comparing it with enemies of nation is nothing but a loose talk done to fetch votes.

As per press statement, Sudhir Sharma said the contribution of Congress in Independence movement and that of its presidents Mahatama Gandhi, Subhash Chander Bose, Jawahar Lal Nehru and Indira Gandhi besides other stalwarts is even recognized by prime minister Narendra Modi and such politically immature statements by persons like Ravinder Raina do no good to BJP and to the nation as well.

The person who very recently had described Governor Satya Pal Malik as ‘BJP man’ or had misbehaved with fellow legislatures is state assembly can surely go to the extent of accusing Congress of anything which had a great contribution in building India, said Sharma.

The pre-independence era, when the party was the umbrella organisation leading the campaign for independence and post-independence era, when the party has a prominent place in Indian politics and gave nation its best if infrastructure and economy can’t be undermined in such loose and irresponsible words, he added.

Sudhir Sharma added that it was only on October 2 that prime minister recognized Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution and this day BJP state chief is going untamed. He said it was Gandhi’s popularity and his satyagraha art of revolution that had led to support from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Khan Mohammad Abbas Khan, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Chakravarti Raj gopalachari, Dr Anugraha Narayan Sinha, Jayaprakash Narayan, Jivatram Kripalani, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

Asking BJP to tame Raina, Sudhir Sharma said one must enter into war of nerves and such cheap and irresponsive statements don’t do any good to nation. How could Raina say that voting for Congress is like strengthening enemies of nation, he questioned and said Congress is a secular party whose social liberal platform is known to all? He asked BJP to have respect for principal leader of Indian Independence movement and don’t stoop low for mere vote bank politics.

AICC secretary said there’s a growing anger against BJP amongst people and morale of its party workers in Jammu is down due to various reasons but that doesn’t mean one starts stooping low, accusing major and recognised political parties to regain that ground.

From commenting on foreign affairs of the country to the local matters BJP chief had always been creating unrest in the state. During coalition government he was against his own chief minister, took oath wrongly, attacked legislature in the house and now stooping low to gain votes and confidence of people who have assessed BJP’s poor performance, he asserted.
