JK Board of School Education (BOSE) on Saturday issued a calendar for holding online interaction between students from different schools through JK Knowledge Network, to be held during the month of March.

An official spokesman said the calendar has been uploaded on the official website of JKBOSE.

The innovative mission is presently supervised and monitored by chairperson JKBOSE, Prof. Veena Pandita and director academics Farooq Ahmad Peer.

JKKN, under the umbrella of JKBOSE is aimed to empower the students of more than 200 identified government schools through quality education by using digital means.

“It is a mission undertaken by JKBOSE with the aim to work towards creating an impact of digitization in every student enrolled in government schools,” the spokesman said.

JKKN works by using the ICT and CAL smart classes which have been created under centrally sponsored schemes RMSA and SSA.

“These smart classes are equipped with the latest digital gadgets like interactive boards. Projectors, visualizer, desktops, laptops, high quality mics and speakers,” he said.

He said JKKN is bridging the gap between the urban and rural schools by organising various kinds of programmes like RUBARU (cultural exchange programme) Quiz Competitions, online lectures and also guest lectures by experts through online mode by using internet.

JKBOSE will be uploading monthly schedule for online interactive classes on website every month.

“The schedule for month of March is already uploaded on website. Later we will upload schedule for upcoming months in a phased manner,” Pandita said.
