Budgam murder case: Police arrest 3 persons

Budgam police today claimed to have solved a “blind murder case” by arresting the persons allegedly involved in the crime.

Giving details, the police in a handout said that on 27 June 2018, police station Chrar-i-Sharief received a complaint from Ghulam Muhammad Dar of Watkulu regarding missing of his son Samir Ahmad Dar from 24 June 2018. 

   

“Accordingly a missing report was lodged in the police station and investigation started,” it said. On 10 July, body of the missing person was found in an irrigation dam at Yousmarg. “On the basis of evidence, a case FIR 43/2018 under section 302 RPC was registered and investigation initiated. To crack the case, a SIT headed by SDPO Khansahib Muhammad Aftab Awan was constituted.

“During the course of investigation, three persons (names withheld) were found involved in commission of the crime and were arrested,” the police said.

It said further investigations revealed that the motive for commission of crime was “a grudge against the deceased, on account of affair of deceased with sister of one of the accused”. After following the due procedure of law, the investigation report would be submitted before the competent court of law, it said.
