District administration Rajouri has drawn a roadmap to secure all schools, hospitals, panchayat ghars and other community establishments by construction of bunkers. This decision has been taken as a sequel to the announcement by the Government of India for the construction of bunkers close to the Line of cControl. Each bunker will have a capacity to shelter forty persons.
Sources close to Greater Kashmir revealed this roadmap terming securing of such public establishments as prime focus.
Sources divulged that after announcement for construction of bunkers, district administration of Rajouri has started process for identification of spots where these bunkers, both individual and community, are to be constructed.
Sources disclosed that with the construction of bunkers near schools and other such establishments, administration has chalked out a strategy for securing these establishments from Pakistani shelling.
“374 bunkers have been planned near schools, hospitals, panchayat ghars and other community establishments” sources revealed.
“Every bunker will be able to give shelter to forty persons at one time” they said.
It has also been learnt that Primary Health Centers and schools in border areas will get bunkers so as to ensure safety of people present inside them in case of shelling.
“Near most of these establishments, community bunkers are being considered for construction” said sources.
DDC Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary confirmed that administration is considering a plan to construct these bunkers near community establishments like schools and hospitals.
“Bunkers are to be constructed under initiative of Government of India and work will start on government directions” he added.
