Committee constituted for award of President’s medals for gallantry, distinguished service

Jammu, Nov 20: J&K Home Department Monday constituted a designated committee for award of “President’s Medal for Gallantry”, “Medal for Gallantry” and “President’s Medal for Distinguished Service” and “Medal for Meritorious Service.”

“In suppression of the Government Order No Home-06 of 2013 dated January 2, 2013; Government Order No 549-Home of 2014 dated December 12, 2014; Government Order No 142-Home of 2017 dated February 28, 2017 and Government Order No 245-Home of 2020 dated December 24, 2020, sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of the designated Committee to scrutinize the proposal for the award of “President’s Medal for Gallantly”, “Medal for Gallantry”, “President’s Medal for Distinguished Service” and “Medal for Meritorious Service” to the officers and officials of Jammu & Kashmir Police; Home Guards and Civil Defence J&K, Prisons Department, J&K and Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, on the occasion of the Independence Day and the Republic Day,” read an order issued by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Raj Kumar Goyal.

   

The committee will comprise Administrative Secretary, Home Department as chairman while Director General of Police, J&K; Special Director General of Police, CID, J&K; Head of Prisons Department, J&K; Commandant General, HG/CD & SDRF, J&K; Head of Fire & Emergency Services department, J&K; Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department; Director Anti Corruption Bureau, J&K and an officer of the Home Department not below the rank of Additional Secretary will be its members.

“It is further ordered that the proposals for the award of medals shall be submitted to the Home department, well in time, for placing it before the Designated Committee,” Goyal ordered.
