Rajouri: In a bizarre development, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri was denied entry inside the Police Station late Saturday evening.

The development, bringing to the fore the lack of coordination between the civil and police administration, unfolded in the full glare of the media and public.

Eye witnesses said that the cavalcade of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri accompanied by other officers of the civil administration reached at the gate of Police Station Rajouri this evening. But the cavalcade was not allowed to enter inside by the sentry on duty.

“The vehicles of the Deputy Commissioner and other officers remained parked outside the gate of Police Station Rajouri. The officers kept on waiting but the door was not opened,” eye witnesses said.

They added that after more than an hour, the Additional SP Rajouri reached the spot. He accompanied the Deputy Commissioner inside the Police Station. The latter, however, left the Police Station immediately after entering inside.

However, some senior officials of the district administration visited the Police Station.

It was not exactly clear as to why the Deputy Commissioner intended to visit the Police Station.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, on being contacted, refused to say anything. “I am on official work and cannot speak on it,” the DC said.
