Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, Friday chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements being put in place by the district administration for the smooth celebration of ensuing Eid-ul-Adha.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of police,Rahul Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Chief MedicalOfficer, Dr Tajamul, designated officer Food Safety, Executive OfficerMunicipal Committee, members of Traders Federation and other senior officers ofthe district.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on facilities beingprovided to the people. Arrangements being put in place across the district,particularly at Eidgahs, Mosques and shrines where largest congregations areexpected to take place, were also reviwed.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure theavailability of livestock and essential commodities, including rice, flour andLPG, besides uninterrupted power and water supply, transport arrangements,cleanliness in and around mosques, streets and Eidgahs, medicare facilities androad repairs.
The DC also directed the officers to launch joint marketchecking across the district. Market checking squads, comprising of revenue,police, food supply, food safety, health and LMD officers, will regularlyinspect all markets of the district.
