Evacuation Effort at al-Shifa Hospital: 14 Ambulances Deployed

New Delhi, Nov 22: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) took fourteen ambulances at al-Shifa hospital, the largest medical facility in Gaza, signalling a coordinated effort to evacuate patients.

Last week, Israeli troops seized control of the Gaza City hospital after intense clashes, leaving hundreds of patients and staff stranded inside. While a significant number of individuals were evacuated earlier, approximately 300 critically ill patients remained in the hospital. In a separate operation, UNICEF facilitated the transfer of 28 newborn babies to a makeshift hospital in Egypt on Sunday. The IDF says that the hospital was being used by Hamas to store weapons and underground tunnels as their hideout taking civilians as human shields while Hamas denies the charges.
