The father and a brother of an active militant were among several persons arrested during night raids in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Locals said that the forces raided the house of a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant Adil Ahmad Mir in Monghama village of Tral around 10:15 pm last night.
They said the forces detained the father and a brother of the militant.
Reports said that relatives of several other local militants belonging to Hizb ul Mujahideen were also arrested by the forces in different areas of Tral.
However, police said those arrested are overground workers of the militants.
“We have detained some people who are overground workers of militants; some could be relatives also,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Awantipora, Mohammad Zahid Malik told Greater Kashmir.
