Friday clinic for children at super specialty hospital

Department of pediatric surgery at Government Medical Colleges’ Super Specialty Hospital here will be operating special outpatient clinics for children with complex anomalies, on Fridays.

“Forenoon sessions on Fridays will be held for children with hypospadias and disorders of sex development and afternoon sessions will be held for those with exstrophy-epispadias complex and cloacal anomalies,” said Dr Abdul Rashid, associate professor, department of paediatric surgery.

He said such special clinics will also examine cases in addition to routine outpatient clinics on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Expecting mothers can also attend the clinics for antenatal counseling on Fridays. Parents of the children with complex anomalies need counselling and reassurance while the patients need detailed examinations, Dr Rashid said.
