Ghulam Rasool Mir nominated for ‘best teacher award’ by MHRD

Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganaie on Saturday congratulated Ghulam Rasool Mir for being nominated for ‘best teacher award’ 2017 by Union government.

In a statement, Ganaie termed Mir as an inspiration for others teachers of Education Department.

   

Mir, as per statement, has been nominated for ‘best teacher award’ for 2017 by Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi.

The statement added that 45 teachers have been selected for the award this year and winner will receive certificate, cash prize of Rs 50, 000 and medal which will be presented by Vice President on 5th September at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. Mir hails from Dardpora village in Kupwara district, said the statement.

Meanwhile, secretary school education Rigzin Samphel and director school education Dr. G.N. Itoo have also congratulated Mir for the achieving the feat. Mir has served in many capacities in the Department. He belongs to a remote area of Thandipora Dardpora Kupwara and was appointed as a teacher in Department of Education and got promoted as lecturer in Chemistry in 1988.   Mir served in different higher secondary schools of Kashmir Division and taught Chemistry at +2 level in Higher Secondary Schools like BHSS Tral, BHSS Charari Shareef, MPML Higher Secondary School Srinagar, BHSS Batamaloo and S P Higher Secondary School Srinagar. 

He was promoted as Principal in 2010 and posted in BHSS Khaag, District Budgam.  He is presently working as district education planning officer, Srinagar.
