GK IMPACT | 2 doctors, junior nurse detached back to Machil

Kupwara, June 17: A day after Greater Kashmir carried a report ‘Machil residents rue lack of healthcare facilities’, authorities detached two doctors and a junior nurse back to their original posting – Machil.

Taking strong note, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kalaroose Dr Muhammad Ramzan had addressed a letter vide BMOK/136 Wednesday to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara Dr Kowsar Amin in which it was stressed upon the medical officers and officials of Primary Health Centre Dudhe to be detached back at the earliest.

   

In response Chief Medical Officer Kupwara Thursday passed formal order in which Block Medical Officer Kupwara has been directed to relieve the Medical Officers and officials of Block Kalaroose to report to their original place of postings with immediate effect.

A formal communiqué in this regard states, “In reference to the BMO Kalaroose vide letter No BMOK/136 dated 16 June 2021 regarding the detachment of staff, in this connection you are directed to relieve the below mentioned medical officers and officials of Block Kalaroose to report to their original place of postings with immediate effect.

The detached Medical Officers include Dr Tahir Marazi and Dr Javeed Ahmad while as one junior nurse Jabeena Akhter has also been detached.

The residents of Machil have hailed the decision and anticipated that the order passed by Chief Medical Officer Kupwara be implemented in letter and spirit.

They demanded that the officials detached on Thursday must join their duties at Primary Health Centre Dudhe without any delay so that people would heave a sigh of relief.

The residents demanded that diagnostic and other basic facilities at Machil should also be kept available for the general public so that they might not have to visit Kupwara for diagnostic tests.

Meanwhile, people from several areas across the district told Greater Kashmir that the health officials performing duties other than their original place of postings should be detached back to their places.
