Hurriyat Conference (G) disbands PaK chapter

Hurriyat Conference (G) today disbanded the existing set up of its Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) chapter. 

“The decision to this effect was taken at an extraordinary meeting of amalgam held today at Hyderpora here with its chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani in chair. Meeting was attended by all the constituent heads or their representatives,” a Hurriyat spokesman said in a statement. 

   

“Some important administrative decisions were discussed and a majority decision was taken to disband the existing setup in All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) chapter. Chairman’s representative Syed Abdullah Geelani was asked to take the responsibility of the forum and furnish the detailed report within two weeks so that future action will be taken accordingly,” the spokesman, said.

“Syed Abdullah Geelani is son of a renowned religious and literary legend of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district late Shah Waliullah Geelani,” the statement stated.

Meanwhile, Geelani has expressed grief over the demise of Hajra Begum, mother of renowned advocate Nazir Ahmad Baba and Bashir Ahmad Baba, describing the deceased as a noble soul.

He also condoled the death of Prof Dr Sheikh Abdul Ahad, ENT specialist, from Seelu Sopore.

He prayed for the eternal peace to both the departed souls and courage to the bereaved families.
