Jammu, July 8: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) allegedly shot himself dead with his service weapon in Poonch on Friday.
He has been identified as ASI G D Prem Chand deployed with ITBP’s 46 Battalion at Mini Secretariat, Poonch.
“Presumably, he shot himself using his INSAS service rifle at around 5:30 am. Inquest proceedings have been initiated,” officials said.
