Militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed the grenade attack on army in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
A spokesman of the outfit, in a statement to GNS news agency, said that its cadres carried out the attack at Ahagam in which a number of army troopers were injured.
Earlier police said that two army troopers suffered splinter injuries after militants lobbed a grenade on an army patrolling party in Ahagam. The injured troopers were later hospitalised.
Soon after the attack, the government forces launched searches to nab the assailants.
