J&K Home Department appoints 116 Prosecuting Officers

Srinagar, Feb 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department Saturday appointed 116 Prosecuting Officers in the Jammu and Kashmir Prosecution Service.

As per the order issued in this regard, the appointment has been made based on the selection in the competitive examination as prescribed under the Jammu and Kashmir Competitive Examination (Prosecution) Rules, 2021.

   

“Based on the recommendations made by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission sanction is hereby accorded to the temporary appointment of the candidates against the posts of Prosecuting Officer (G) the appointees shall report in the office of Director General, Prosecution,” the order reads.

As per the order, the appointees would be allowed to join only on production of the date of birth certificate, qualification certificate, domicile certificate, relevant category certificate, and other documents as required under the rules.

“Candidates who fail to join within 21 days from the date of issuance of this appointment order would forgo their right to appointment, which would be deemed to have been cancelled ab initio without any further notice,” the order reads.

As per the order, the salary of the appointees should be drawn and disbursed to them after the receipt of the satisfactory reports in respect of genuineness of qualification, date of birth certificate, relevant category certificate, and subject to production of an affidavit to this order.

“In case, any candidate is adversely reported upon by the verifying agency or any certificate is found not to be genuine, or valid, he or she shall have no claim to hold the post to which appointed and his or her appointment will automatically stand cancelled without any further notice,” the order reads.

It reads that the appointment of the selected candidates should be governed by the conditions that these appointments would be under the ‘New Pension Scheme’ notified vide SR0-400 of 2009 dated December 24, 2009.

“The appointees would be on probation for two years and the appointment of all the candidates would be subject to the outcome of the writ petitions, if any, pending before any competent court of law or tribunal,” the order reads.

The inter-se seniority of the appointees shall be determined in terms of Rule 10 of the Jammu and Kashmir Prosecution Service Recruitment Rules, 2020, the order reads.
